If you are planning to attend an Astros game

Buy a cheap ticket – there are plenty of good seats open for improvement. The actual attendance has been about half the announced paid attendance.

You can park within a block of the stadium for $5 – don’t think I’ve ever seen the prices that low.

Only games that have been crowded are Cubs and Cardinals – Astros fans seem to be outnumbered at those games.

It takes more than pitching to win a pennant, but not much!

by NocturnalMatt on May 21, 2009 10:26 PM CDT reply actions

Frustrating game

I was way up in the cheap seats in right field, so I’m not gonna say that Berkman was safe, but he sure got tossed in a hurry and so did Coop. So early in a tight ballgame and a close play at the plate, you’d like to see the ump give a little more leeway to the best player on your team. Then putting Fulchino in to face Braun with two on and one out was a boneheaded move, in my opinion. Sampson didn’t do THAT much better two batters later, but I would have used him to face Braun, or just left Roy in to try to work out of it. Again, from way up in right, I can’t say that Roy wasn’t gassed or whatever, but in such an important spot, if you’re gonna go to your pen, you gotta bring in one of your big guns. That was a game we should have been able to win.
