This is truly a battle of right handed power pitchers looking for a bounce back. I think it'll be our guy who comes out on top.
MMP has not been a good place for the young Cueto as he sports a lifetime (ok, only two starts) split of a 10.38 ERA in 8.2 IP. He hasn't had his best starts in Houston, so let's hope he continues that (meaningless, statistically) trend. That way we can get a repeat of the above photo.

Game within the Game
Willy T vs Michael Bourn
Will we read many comparisons between the two as to who is the better player this series (and thus who should be Astros center fielder)?
Astros fan for life
by Joe in Birmingham on Apr 17, 2009 7:19 PM CDT up reply actions
If I have to pick one
I think I’ll go with Bourn – he’s got potential.
It takes more than pitching to win a pennant, but not much!
maybe....
But I haven’t seen as much comparing of Willy T and Bourn this year. I think Astros fans are starting to forget Willy T a little bit.
It's a tough call
I’d rather have a power hitting center fielder with average speed than either one.
It takes more than pitching to win a pennant, but not much!
Need better than all right.
Especially with Lee over there.

well
any discussion about that would inevitably have to ask which was the worse trade, and I’d prefer not to think about either Jennings or Lidge right now.
Give the Astros credit
The not only screwed up the trade for Jennings, they also mismanaged him.
It takes more than pitching to win a pennant, but not much!
Great game from Hampton yesterday
With him, Roy and Wandy, we could become respectable.
It takes more than pitching to win a pennant, but not much!
yeah, maybe
then I look at the starters and see “Blum” and “Jason Smith” on the list, and I get a little depressed.
Still, stranger things have happened.
and once, as a child, I was anxious to go see the circus
and then I found out it wasn’t entertaining and I came out smelling like elephant shit.
I only want
respectability – the chance to be in any game.

with Carlos Lee jogging around looking for the ball.
I'm no coach
but Roy looks really jerky to me this year – not smooth at all.

Cueto
may very well be one of the worst hitters I’ve ever seen. Even amongst pitchers, that was ugly.

yeah, probably
he was supposedly playing hurt most of last year, he’s only 21, and he didn’t do enough off-season work. I think he’ll be a great DT as he continues to learn his craft.
Pence throws out Willy T at 3d base.
He went around on a ground single by Votto. Matsui probably gets that ball for an out by the way.
Willie Taveras
Knows so many ways to hurt an offense
It takes more than pitching to win a pennant, but not much!
Oswalt goes inside for the zillionth time without a strike call.
Gives up a walk to Phillips who isn’t much of a walk candidate.
Taking away the inside part of the plate....
like this umpire has done, is particularly a problem for Roy O. He depends on pitching inside.
Without the Willy T blunder
That would have been a sac fly for a run

I'm going to be honest
and this is the first time I’ve really shared this opinion with anyone, but I think it might be true.
I think that no-hitter, the Cubs fan reaction to the Astros’ complaints, and the Cubs’ reaction to the same is what destroyed all karma they had built up over a century of postseason failure. I think the baseball Gods allowed the Cubs to trade that karma for a no-hitter on the condition of getting swept by the Dodgers. They would have easily won that series had the no-hitter never been thrown.

Did any one else see the Cubs-Cards game on WGN this afternoon?
That was a pretty exciting game. I didn’t know which to root for, though. Ludwick hit 2 HRs and the Cards mashed Zambrano. But the Cardinals’ fans must be pulling their hair out over the closer situation. With fangraphs showing minimal chance of the Cardinals losng, Chris Perez gave up a 3 run HR and the Cards lost.
