Cooper Predicts 90+ wins for the Astros this year.

You read it here.   Berkman and Lee agree.  Tejada thinks it should be more than that.  Cooper says that Dusty Baker agrees that the Astros will be better than everybody expects.

OK, there you have it.

That's so sad

another Astros manager has apparently suffered from a stroke.

Christ

We’re totally F@#%d if Baker is endorsing us.

A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

you know what?

Sure. Why not? He’s right. They could totally win 90 games this year.

Hampton’s going to be healthy and pitch well, and so will Wandy. And Russ Ortiz and Moehler will provide solid contributions. The bullpen is going to continue to be great. Roy will put in another CY-quality season.

Pence will explode on the league, Bourn will develop, Johnson will become a league-average 3B. Kazuo Matsui will stay healthy and hit well, Drew Sutton will come up and provide decent work as a utility man. Bogusevic will become Houston’s answer to Rick Ankiel and win out the starting CF role, leaving Bourn to play 4th OF. Pudge will put in a quality season, but Towles will play well, too. Lance will kick ass again, and Tejada will rebound. Carlos might even lose some weight.

And maybe if we keep saying it over and over again and believe hard enough it will come true.

Will 90 (or 91) wins

be enough to win the NL Central?

Wasn't last year...

But was good enough for the Wild Card.

Dusty Baker is a moron.....

But you guys already knew that. :)

i like 90 wins

as a predictor. as long as we dont go .300 against the pittsburgh pirates again this year.

i dont have high expectations, but that entirely revolves around our pitching staff. If we had maybe one more quality starter, 90 wins may be in reach. unfortunately i see this year unraveling much like last year.

formerly known as kicker
