Catcher to have surgery to repair torn labrum. Recovery time is estimated at four months, which takes him officially out of consideration to make the club out of the spring.

The obvious question....
Does this mean that the Astros will be looking for another veteran catcher to sign? The Astros may free up some money by voiding Hall’s contract. However, it likely isn’t very much, maybe the league minimum for a player like Hall. Wade keeps trying t squash the Pudge Rodriguez rumors, but you have to wonder if this re-opens that issue.
