Oswalt Angry Over PED "Cheaters"

Another article was posted today with an Astros star calling out PED users. This time Oswalt expresses his anger, saying cheaters could have cost his team wins or even a spot in the World Series. He's pretty cut and dry about his opinion of these guys.

“I feel that going out there natural against these guys that are taking the drugs is not fair to me. They’re already All-Star players and they’re taking drugs. That’s not fair for me. They’re cheating.”

You can read the article here.

He should be careful with some of those statements...

considering that he played with Clemens and Pettitte. Oswalt said of A-Rod:

"The few times we played them, when he got hits, it could have cost me a game," Oswalt said. "It could have cost me money in my contract. He cheated me out of the game and I take it personally, because I’ve never done [PEDs], haven’t done it, and they’re cheating me out of the game."

One of the commenters at Baseball Think Factory sarcastically wondered iwhy Oswalt isn’t upset that he got World Series money which is partly due to a season in which Clemens and Pettitte has spectacular seasons.

I can see how some might view that as hypocrisy (even though Roy does go out of his way to say that he is giving Clemens the benefit of the doubt that he has only been accused).

By the way, A-Rod is 3 for 7 with 2 doubles, 1 HR, and 3 RBIs in his career against Oswalt.

Roy needs...

to take a couple laps around his property with the tractor, and think about what he is going to say. There is a nicer approach that could be used, Roy has too much class to speak with such ignorance. But let Roy be the beacon of hope for a clean game. Go ’Stros

Selig back Oswalt?

usatoday report

Selig is considering suspending A-Rod.
Selig said he also is considering reinstating Hank Aaron as baseball’s home run king in the record book.

Well that would be stupid.

It certainly won’t encourage any players to “come clean” with admissions. Selig cannot suspend A-Rod for testing positive on the anonymous test, because MLB agreed that it would not impose penalties for postive tests. After the test result is leaked, A-Rod comes clean with a public confession, which is what everyone was yelling for him to do. So, Selig then suspends him for the public confession. Give me a break.

I don't think he will do that..

if he really wants to suspend A-rod, he doesn’t need to talk around.

Who should be suspended? He should suspend himself.
