FanGraphs: Matt Lindstrom trade makes a lot of sense for Astros
If Joe Sheehan signs off on this move, the world may very well end.

FanGraphs makes a good point though
A large part of Lindstrom’s earlier career success was his miniscule HR/FB rate, which normalized this year. So I’m not sure we should expect around 3 ERA from him unless he gets lucky again. More likely, around 4 ERA, but that’s not terrible as long as it doesn’t result in too many blown saves.
His groundball rate is good enough that an increase in HR/flyball doesn’t have a huge impact on his results. As fangraph notes, even with an average HR/fly rate, his HR/9 rate is less than 1. The Astros are showing a distinct preference for good groundball rates in recent signings (such as the NRIs).
Arnsberg
Has got his first reclamation project we’ve been speculating about here on TCB.
