Friend from Twinkie Town
Hello Astros fans!
I find myself coming into the employ of Drayton McLane. I am a Twins fan that got here via Twinkie Town on the SBNation. As a fan of an American League team I have room in my heart for a National League squad. The fact that my employer owns the Astros and I'm about to become a Texas resident seals the deal. I also run a Twins blog @ http://www.ontheroadwithshawn.blogspot.com/. It's pretty terrible. I am thinking of doing a write up comparing and contrasting the Twins and Astros organizations. So why am I bothering you folks? I was hoping to be steered into directions of the best Astros content(besides The Crawfish Boxes). Any info that you could provide for a new Astros follower would be great!
Thank You,
Shawn in Binghamton

Here are a few sites
Astros County is probably my second-favorite source, to here. The site is kind of an ugly BlogSpot template look, but they seem to aggregate most Astros news first, scoop a tad bit of their own, and do a little analysis to boot.
Farmstros posts here sometimes. They keep track of the minor league teams.
The Houston Chronicle’s website is chron.com. Their writers can be pretty bad, other than Levine, who is usually good.
I like reading Lisa’s snarky game recaps at The Astros Dugout during the season.
Also:
Astrosdaily.com
You can see the link on the page to the Forum at the site, which is probably the oldest Astros fan web site.
Also, spikesnstars is another Astros fan web site.

Welcome!
I know that at the all-star break, the Twins and ’Stros were in simillar positions. We all know what happened after that!
Fun being a fan!
Welcome to the Astros fanbase Shawn!
Alyson Footer IMO and I think a bunch of others opinions is the best reporter who covers the Astros. Definitely check out all farmstros posts for minor league insight. I’d also go to astros.com and then minor league affiliates to get yourself acquainted with some of the players. Of course stats hardly tell the story but it gives you a flashlight because there are a couple players in every system who have all the tools but are overshadowed by some super prospect and therefore are neglected by some fans and/or publications.
