Bad news for anyone not in the Houston Area
I think at least.

Depends
FSN networks tend to pick up each other’s programming all the time (for instance, FSN Houston broadcasts Stars games when Rockets games are on another network). All that matters is the team’s blackout region.
For the Astros, all of Texas and Louisiana is in the club’s blackout region. That’s also the Rangers’ territory, but broadcasts tend to follow regional trends. Oklahoma and Arkansas also are in the Rangers-Astros blackout region, but those states are also claimed by the Royals and Cardinals.
So it depends on where you live outside of the Houston area. But I imagine that whatever you were getting before will continue.
As for me, I wish that they’d just move all the Astros games to FSN. We get those on cable in New Orleans, but none of the local broadcast stations air the KTXH games.

in Austin
DirecTV was already showing diff designations for FSH and FSSW, so there’s reason to hope that Texas markets will be OK. TimeWarner had started to carry two feeds most of the time as well, at least during live sporting events. It is a good thing IMO b/c it means that markets outside Houston would have a single channel for Houston stuff (not just Astros but Rockets as well) where in the past they would often have to compete w/ Rangers, Mavs, Spurs, etc.

The Crawfishboxes
A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
