Sorry

I’m fixing the poll as soon as I click post.

A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

So far

1 and 4 look very even. I think JR and Bagwell have their matchups though.

Caminiti -Thon was hard choice for me.

I loved Caminiti when he was an Astro and will always think of him as an Astro.- but his most recognized on-field accomplishments came as a Padre. Dickie Thon played for several teams but is most remembered for a devastating hit to the eye while an Astro. I think he played more years for the Astros than did Caminiti too. But Caminiti was more dramatic and impressive. What memories!

Hard choice for me between the two of them. I had no problem choosing the other three.

P.S. - I'm surprised

the Alan Ashby – Billy Doran vote is so close.

why?

I had a tough choice on that one (I picked Ashby), but you don’t mention which is the obvious one, in your opinion. Doran was a great example of the “gritty” second basemen which the Astros seem to cultivate, a guy who taught Biggio a lot. Ashby, on the other hand, may be the best Astros catcher in the team’s history, and went on to serve the team as a radio broadcaster. I give Dierker, Deshais, and Ashby “extra points” for their time as Astros broadcasters.

I don't know what happened

Sorry about that. These polldaddy polls have been giving me fits.
