Home Grown or Acquired through Trades/Free Agency: Which All Time Astros Team is better?
Sully Baseball made a post, wherein they compiled the best teams the Astros could build through players they themselves drafted, and those acquired through free agency/trades.
I gotta say, the "All Acquired" team looks stout: Bagwell, Kent, Alou, Clemens, Ryan, Scott and Beltran (as a reserve behind Jimmy Wynn).

If He Uses
Beltran, i don’t see how he could avoid using the Big Unit.

I thought long and hard about Unit
Maybe he belongs on…
I’ve made a few changes since the original post (I took off Octavio Dotel and added Fred Gladding)
I have a soft spot in my heart for Jose Lima.

Hmm
I’d say take Bagwell off the “acquired” team (considering he came here considered mainly a prospect) and the home-grown team has it. Then again, add Randy Johnson (who was as good as Beltran for the half-season they had him) and the acquired team probably has it done.

Bagwell is certainly on the acquired team!
Thanks for reading my post.
I’m having too much fun writing these.
I have a strict “If they were in another organization before arriving to the team, then they are acquired” rule.
That’s how Carl Hubbell ended up on the acquired team for the Giants (he briefly was in the Tigers system)
That’s why Roberto Clemente will be on the acquired team for the Pirates when I get around to that list (he was a Rule 5 pick up from the Dodgers)
Besides, I’m a Red Sox fan… that was one bad trade for us!
