Astros avoid arbitration with Geary and Rodriguez

Stay connected for news and updates

The Astros have reportedly reach agreements with relief pitcher Geoff Geary and starter Wandy Rodriguez for one year deals.

Geary is set to make $1.7 million, plus incentives.  His contract seems a little excessive given his injury risk coming off of an off season surgery.  Although this contract does represent a $100,000 savings over his predicted value via the community projection project.

Wandy will make $2.6 million, plus incentives.  This a sum well below his community projection project's predicted value of $10 million+.

This means the Astros will have no arbitration cases for the 2009 season.
