Around SBN: Phil Mickelson Outshines Tiger Woods

First it's 33 year old Japanese import Kenshin Kawakami, then it's Lowe. Jair Jurrjens, Javier Vazquez and a fifth starter de jour round out the Braves' rotation. The Braves franchise is apparently still in business, even after the departure of team mainstay John Smoltz.

Big Impact Signing

Chris Burke signs with the Padres.
Can’t he be a Cub or something?

blasphemy

I don’t want to have to root against Burke. If he joined the Cubs, I’d have to hate him on principle.

Yeah, but he'd make the Cubs worse

Thus, making the Astros better by comparison. He owes that to us.

Assuming he ever played

But I’d like that.

The Crawfishboxes
A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

How about Mike Lamb?

Anyone see a final good season out of him?

by ol Pete on Jan 14, 2009 7:06 AM CST up reply actions

possible.

I like his chances better than Aaron Boone’s. In fact, Lamb has sort of a history of following up bad offensive seasons with good seasons.
