To be honest

I’m a little shocked that 7 people have already voted on this before 9:30 AM CST on New Years Day.

The Lance vs. Milo match up looks to be a good one.

A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Some tough choices.

Poor Jimmy Wynn….he gets paired up with Craig Biggio.

I’m not sure I get the idea of including inanimate objects like the Astrodome versus players.

Happy New Year

I share Clack’s concern about Astrodome versus Mike Scott. I almost voted for Mike Scott. For One , he deserves to make a late round. Second, I wanted to get rid of the Astrodome before it plays havoc with the final results. Astrodome has the word Astro in its name. How much more Astro-iest can you get?

I too feel for Jimmy Wynn. The Toy Cannon ran against a legend in Biggio.

I agree with Dying Quail that Berkman – Milo will be an interesting call, if for no other reason than how one votes depends on what you mean by “Astro-iest.” I’ve already forgotten how I voted, but I think I went Milo – but now I want to vote Berkman. Berkman is a better choice.

I’m surprised the Tal Smith – Mike Hampton vote is close.

The Astrodome may be weak

But it got enough respect on our original thread to make the list.

When I saw the Wynn — Biggio match-up (and the Berkman — Milo) I cringed, but that’s what random selection can do.

Well, I did vote for Mike Scott.

For one, I wanted to vote against inanimate objects. Second, heck, Mike Scott is one of the few Astros to win a Cy Young Award.

The Astrodome vs. Mike Scott battle

Is actually pretty close. Maybe when the “during the work day” users log-in it’ll break one way or the other.

Hmm

I refrained from voting for either Derek Bell or Jim Bouton. That isn’t really a great matchup compared to some of the others (Berkman versus Milo: I voted Lance on a slight only because Milo has announced for several other teams; Astrodome versus Mike Scott: voted Scott).
