2008 - Johnny Cueto 9-13 30 30 0 0 0 0 171.1 171 96 88 29 65 157 4.62 1.38

Here's my thought: if Roy wins tonight, then it's game on. If Roy loses tonight, it just wasn't meant to be. Last night, we saw Lance snap out of it, and Hunter showed some plate discipline....yea....I dig.

Does it seem to anyone else

that Blum has swung and grounded/flyed out on most of his recent ABs with RISP?

Matsui walks.

Bases loaded. Up to Bourn now… BLAHHH – 2 outs.

hells yeah

Michael Bourn doesn’t suck tonight!

by Only_A_Lad on Sep 25, 2008 7:51 PM CDT reply actions

Brewers got a run in...

I hope the Pirates have not forgotten how to score.
1-0 Brew Crew

Ok. Single. That's cool.

4-1 Astros.. bases loaded for Matsui

by entropic soul on Sep 25, 2008 8:13 PM CDT reply actions

Matsui in a run.

Bourn has got himself a bases loaded situation for the second time in two innings. Let’s see him clear them again. :)

5-1 Astros after the Matsui walk.

And a fresh pitcher comes in to face Bourn.

by entropic soul on Sep 25, 2008 8:18 PM CDT reply actions

Meanwhile, Corey Hart gets caught stealing second.

Was 1st and 3rd with 1 out. Now, just 3rd with 2 outs and Rickie Weeks batting.
Score still tied 1-1.

as Wiggy singles and Ausmus walks before him.
0 outs.

by entropic soul on Sep 25, 2008 8:48 PM CDT up reply actions

Oops. Matsui

I forget they are flipped around.
Matsui gets it done with a single. 6-1 Astros.
Bourn gets his chance now.

You think pitchers

just figured him out?

by Stros Bro on Sep 25, 2008 9:12 PM CDT up reply actions

oh yea

he just doesnt hit for power. whatsoever. geoff blum is a better power threat. even hideki “godzilla” matsui never hit for power in the bigs. our longer season probably had some effect. also, dont discount the day games at wrigley. can wear a hitter out.

What If

What if we hadn’t lost so many damned games to the Pirates.

Despite the manhandling by the Cubs in Wrigley North, we’re still ahead of them for the year. How come we couldn’t do that against the Bucs?

by pel on Sep 25, 2008 9:35 PM CDT reply actions

Yea

I’ve been blaming the Pirates for our current position for a while now ;)
