The offense seems to have picked up some, with Wigginton and Pence getting back in a groove at the end of the Pirates series. This may be the toughest of all the games remaining on the schedule, as Reds starter Edinson Volquez has been outstanding.

Reds are 15-7 the last 22 games

They have put the hurt on some good teams. In September alone Reds have won 2 out 3 from Cubs , 4 of 6 from Brewers , 2 of 3 from Diamondbacks, 2 of 3 from Cardinals and 1 of 1 from Marlins.

Astros must play championship quality baseball this series to hope to win all three, even to win 2 of 3.

Slight correction on HLP’s review: 7 games to go, not 6.
