Cincinnati Reds at Houston Astros, Gotta Win It
Cincinnati Reds at Houston Astros, Sep 23, 2008 7:05 PM CDT
Six to go, win one for the Gipper, Remember the Alamo, etc, etc. The Juice Box is a house of horrors for the Reds, so hopefully the up and down Wandy Rodriguez can keep it that way. The offense seems to have picked up some, with Wigginton and Pence getting back in a groove at the end of the Pirates series. This may be the toughest of all the games remaining on the schedule, as Reds starter Edinson Volquez has been outstanding.

Reds are 15-7 the last 22 games
They have put the hurt on some good teams. In September alone Reds have won 2 out 3 from Cubs , 4 of 6 from Brewers , 2 of 3 from Diamondbacks, 2 of 3 from Cardinals and 1 of 1 from Marlins.
Astros must play championship quality baseball this series to hope to win all three, even to win 2 of 3.
Slight correction on HLP’s review: 7 games to go, not 6.

Poorly played flyball by Wigginton in left
following a single leads to the Reds first run.

It's still a Tuesday night
And a lot of people still haven’t gotten back into their normal lives after the storm(still quite a few without power)… so it’s not really surprising to me.
Go 'Stros!
JD mentions this is the 8th straight losing season for the reds
2 more years and they can be the Rays and come back to be one of the best teams in baseball.

Not All Wandy's fault
A seeing eye single, a three base error in left – those are the two runners who scored. If Wiggy makes the catch in left, no score in the first .

Wiggy was completely turned around -
He turned left; he turned right, he turned all about . While he was doing the hokey-pokey theball feel behind him and rolled to the wall

I think Matsui
is the last person I expect to hit an opposite field home run… just the way he is in the box would appear to take away most if not all of his power to left field..
Go 'Stros!
Volquez
worked Berkman almost exclusively at the top portion of the strike zone… and struck him out.

2-2
Brewers are winning 2-0. Astros are losing 2-1. Things not looking so hot right now.
Phillies losing 2-1

I don't know about that.
The Mets will give it up. In 2 innings, Wandy has struck out four. Kazuo just hit a homer. The only Reds runs have come through dinky ground singles and a misplayed fly ball. Things look pretty good to me.
you all know what time it is....
