Objective Argument For Berkman As NL MVP
If you use Win Probability Added and plate appearances to measure offense and a position adjustment and zone rating to measure defense, Lance Berkman is the clear cut National League MVP through September 16th.
The Astros have another top ten candidate is Carlos Lee, too (although it really pains me to admit that.) As for Miguel Tejada, he barely sneaks into the top 100.

We've commented on that WPA before
Not so long ago Lance was first and Carlos Lee was third
But isn’t Lance Berkman in an 11 game hitless streak. That’s an objective cold water stat.

If only the writers paid attention to those kinds of things...
I’m glad that Lance beat out Pujols. I love you work too.
A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
