What a friggin joke
I think I saw, maybe two Astros fans that whole game. And that was when they did the post-game interview with JD and Brownie.

Thanks, Mr. Selig
Now go fuck yourself before making a tiny donation to relief efforts and thinking you’re a good person.

That's impressive.
No hitting a team whose players probably haven’t slept more than a few hours since Friday. Good work, Zambrano.

I heard somewhere
or read somewhere that Z thanked the fans for cheering him on in the game and giving him the motivation to get it done.
Yes, those Cubs fans at our “home” game a mere 90 miles from Wrigley.
Talk about a punch to the gut. He should have just come out and thanked Ike for giving him the boost he needed.

yes, Zambrano credited the fans when he was interviewed after the game.
The crowd was chanting “Let’s Go, Z,” throughout the latter innings of the game.

This
According to a source familiar with the intense negotiations between Major League Baseball and the teams involved, the Astros will receive the ticket revenue from the games at Miller Park.
from here.
I had this on Selig, but McLane sold us out.

That's the most depressing thing ever
I hate MLB Ownership. D-bags.
A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Disappointing
The best I can hope for here is that:
1. Selig told McLane in no uncertain terms would the series be delayed to the end of the year, and
2. McLane had better make his peace with Sunday/Monday games of some variety or other, and
3. McLane, with no other option, did the best he could to salvage a bad situation by getting the ticket money
This is the only possible way Drayton’s actions can be acceptable.
Sadly, however, I suspect McLane didn’t have the cajones to give Selig the finger and demand postponing the series. I’m sure the real story is Selig told McLane firmly that he wanted the series played now, and McLane weakly acquiesced. And oh, can I get a little payout, dad?

It is certainly both
depressing and disappointing. It is, and was, all about the money. Selig didn’t want the regular season extended, as that might conflict with post-season TV revenues, and he kisses the ass of the teams (Yankees, Cubs) that generate the most revenue as well. I wish I could agree with pel’s #3 point above on McLane, but because of the fact that it was sold as a “marquee game,” meaning higher ticket prices, and the fact that the article describes it as “intense negotiations,” I just don’t buy it. The Astros tried to blame the venue on Selig, to divert fans’ fury, but as noted in the article Stros Bro cites below, even the players smell a rat. My guess is pel’s #1 point is valid, which makes the second point necessary, but McLane realized that the only way he was going to recoup anything on all the refunds he was going to have to give is to have it at a venue at which the game(s) would be well-attended, and to charge more for the tickets as well. And if the players see it that way at all, I wouldn’t be surprised if the bottom drops out of the last two weeks of the season. Yeah, I’m sure they’re professional and all, but if I were them, I wouldn’t want to play for the jackass.

I wouldn't have been happy with St. Louis as a neutral site....
But I would like to think that Cardinals’ fans, though, would have shown more class than the Cubs’ fans did last night. After all they have been through this weekend and travails of getting to the game, the Astros’ players were roundly booed during announcement of the lineup and as they took the field for the first time. You could hear loud heckling of some of the Astros’ players during the game.
Oh, well.

Unfortunately
People who have BS anti-trust exemptions are virtually bullet proof.

There is so much fan outrage over what has happened...
Yet I have not seen a single national media report even mention how anyone, not the players nor the fans, felt about moving the game to MIller Park so shortly after Hurricane Ike. It’s about how Zambrano pitched a no-hitter.
He sure did. Against a team that hadn’t slept in 48 hours.
