Questions for the Unofficial Scorer

Tomorrow afternoon, I have an interview scheduled with Zachary Levine of the Chronicle.  For those of you not totally up on his work, his column is called, "The Unofficial Scorer" and he does some outstanding work.  He's always got an interesting take at the team from a variety of statistical aspects (streaks, rare events, etc.) and has some of the more challenging trivia questions you'll find around.  He also does some great analysis and has some pretty entertaining Live Blog's during the games.

The point of this, however, is to ask you if there is anything you'd like me to ask him.  He's a guy that has a much more inside view of the Astros, so we definitely want to pick his brains.  So leave your questions in the comments.

Take the Defense Scouting Survey

We're only doing marginally better, it takes five minutes.  Like you don't want to kill five minutes at work.  Stop staring at Outlook or Excel and enjoy a bit of your day.

DO IT!!

Hahaha

I’ll try to think of a more delicate way to phrase that…

A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

how much of an understanding does the front office

(drayton mclane, ed wade, tal smith, etc) have of sabermetrics, and the kind of economic thought concerning baseball that is espoused in books like “diamond dollars”, and “the book on the book”

Oh, and as a follow up question:

How much of a role does organizational incompetency play in the Astros’ decision-making?
