Carlos Lee - Named NL Player of the Week
Lee led the N.L. with a .550 (11-20) batting average, a 1.100 slugging percentage, a .640 on-base percentage and 22 total bases and he tied for the league lead with 11 RBI. The 32-year-old left fielder recorded 11 hits (2 2B, 3 HR) and scored seven runs. The native of Aguadulce, Panama recorded three multi-hit games, including a four-hit performance, on August 8th at Cincinnati. Carlos homered in consecutive games on August 5th and 6th at Wrigley Field and posted four consecutive multi-RBI games from August 5-8. Lee is hitting .314 with 28 home runs and 100 RBI on the season. This marks the second time that Lee has earned N.L. weekly honors and his first as an Astro (previous: 5/8/2005 with MIL). Lee was placed on the disabled list after Saturday's game, when he suffered a broken left pinky.
