Seaton signed!
Everything I've heard about this kid has been good. He sounded to me like first-round talent with signability issues, but since he's local and purportedly and Astros fan, we were able to reel him in. With all the discussion of things that the front office is doing wrong, we've signed most (only Davidson, who we'd get a compensatory pick for if we can't sign him, is a top pick yet unsigned).

he signed for $700k, plus $252k for “college expenses” (whatever that means), which is clearly above slot, so that’s at least two guys (Dydalewicz being the other) that we’ve opened our pocket books for to make sure we got ‘em, both were deemed signability risks, but were local Texas kids. so keep that in mind when people start going on about how much of a tightwad Drayton is.
here’s a breakdown of bonuses paid:

McLane is much generous to Texas boys,.The last significant over slot before Dydalewicz is Patton. If Seaton is not a Houston native, we might not able to offer that much to sign him.
Anyway, this is the best news recently.
