Don't be afraid to give updates from time to time...

I’m not watching the game, but I am checking the game thread from time to time. Should I be conflicted? Volquez is on my fantasy team, but I want the Astros to win.

Nope

Hopefully he’s in the negatives tonight

Unofficial scorer: Astros trade for Letroy Hawkins...

give up a single-A second baseman who was the 2007 No. 7 draft pick.

Thanks!

Wasn’t Hawkins closing the past couple of years – or am I thinking of someone else?

Someone else

Hawkins hasn’t had a save since 2005(but has 10 blown saves over the last 3 seasons).

Wandy gets through the 3rd without anymore damage...

A couple of singles.. but I don’t see us getting much on our half.

by entropic soul on Jul 30, 2008 7:57 PM CDT reply actions

He's held the Astros scoreless so far

but he did get shelled in the All Star game if I remember correctly

Yeah, that jerk helped us lose.

2 run homer off of a Red Sux player.. forget who.. I should remember, but can’t get his name right now.

by entropic soul on Jul 30, 2008 8:07 PM CDT up reply actions

And I'm right.

Q, Wandy and Matsui all make outs.

I had a flash this afternoon

that this would be a 9-2 game. I assumed Astros would win.

so far it doesn’t look like my flash meant anything.(or maybe it’s for some other game to happen in the next ten years)

Good news

Volquez has given up less than 3 runs only once in his last 6 starts.
Bad News: Carlos Lee fails.

The long ball is has been our worst enemy...

I think Milo just said that we’ve given up 147 long balls on the year… by far the most in the league (feel free to correct the number – cause he might have said 137… either way that’s way to many for the total number of games we’ve played so far).

Pirates trade Nady right after their series with the Astros, and now...

Reds trade Griffey right after their series with the Astros. Why can’t these teams get rid of these guys BEFORE they play the Astros?

Volquez will go at least 6 unless something happens.

The Reds bullpen… eh.. not bad enough to make up six runs, I don’t think.

That 9-2 flash this afternoon may happen after all.

Even if it doesn’t, it is eerily close. Spooks me a little.

Angel Hernandez - goofy call (so what's new)

Erstad (I think) grounds to short and on a close play at first Angel throws his right hand out like Erstad is out then suddnely swishes it to his right meaning first baseman pulled off the base. Erstad is safe.
