Moehler Mania!!!!

So far he is pitching a perfect game in the middle of the 2d inning. :)

lookin' great!

In character so far.

Pence was the right-handed Ted Williams in 2007.

What happened to the Astros???

I’ve been at the beach with family since last Sunday and could not hear or watch any games. All I heard was a string of losses on an important road trip. I turned on the game tonight and the Astros score two runs immediately to take 2-0 lead, but Pence is in thelead-off spot and Quintero has taken Towles place.

What happened on the disastrous road trip? What happened to the team?

OK, I'll try to explain....

A few poorly pitched games (particularly in the Brewers’ series)...but mostly because the offense turned into a pile of crap. The offense made last year’s Astros’ team look like the 1927 Yankees.

Lead off double for Erstad.....

What a productive reserve outfielder.

by clack on Jun 6, 2008 8:07 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

2 more runs score on Izturis' error....

Berkman with a great slide at the plate, since he was basically dead with a throw right on the money. But he slipped the tag and scored. Lee on 3d with no outs. Now Lee scores on a grounder, and ill advised run home. Pujols had him dead also, but Molina dropped the ball. Lee first called out and then safe, when ump saw the drop. JD says Molina heard El Cabella’s hoofs…..which is funny idea, considering the prior Towles/Backe incidents.

Odd inning

We don’t seem to get many innings like that in favor of the Astros.

Go 'Stros!

5-0 feels good

The role players (and Hunter Pence) are leading the way.

Moehler going deep!

Not home run deep… deep into the game… He’s only pitched more than 5 innings 1 time… he’s already into the 6th now and looking good on the board and the pitch count. Hopefully he can keep this up

Go 'Stros!

moehler witth good command so far.

I like JD’s explanation: hitters are underwhelmed by Moehler’s stuff and think, “I should be able to hit this guy.” Then they go up there swinging at early pitches….which Moehler locates on the edges.

by clack on Jun 6, 2008 8:48 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

OK, I had to say this....

Moehler is chewing up the Cardinals.

by clack on Jun 6, 2008 8:49 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

It's amazing how good

an average stuff pitcher can be if he locates and doesn’t leave balls out over the middle.

Yeah man – Moehler has been a real surprise this season. Good to see him having a good game.

I hate the wave

Maybe I’m just “totally lame” but one thing I will never join in on is the wave… I hate to see it at games and if I’m with someone who does it.. I give them the evil eye and make fun of them… am I mean?

You're not mean at all

I hate the stupid wave. It annoys the ever-livin’ shit out of me. It just goes to show the limited attention span of most of the people that go to the ballpark, and that they have absolutely no consideration for other people who ARE TRYING TO WATCH THE ACTUAL GAME. If I were ever to go postal, it would be because of all the morons doing the wave during a bases-loaded Berkman at-bat with a 3-2 count. Sonsabitches.

Brings out my Tourette’s.
