Power Rangers

FSN describing some of the Rangers best hitters. lol

by entropic soul on Jun 24, 2008 6:41 PM CDT   0 recs

Rangers Pitching is worse than Astros Pitching

Rangers Hitting is better than Astros Hitting

Ingredients for a high scoring series.

I don't have any AL favorites ...

So when filling out All-star ballots, I’ve ended up with as many as 4 freakin’ Rangers on my ballot . I think the last ones, I’ve just gone with the safe choice at ss, but that still left me with 3 Rangers …

by mokulen on Jun 24, 2008 7:04 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I put Jeter at ss

in my last ballots. I felt really guilty about that … :( Not a lot to choose from … Maybe if I fill out any more I’ll go back to Young. He certainly likes to hit against the Astros

Lead off double for the Rangers

That was nearly a home run….

I imagine that run will score.

by entropic soul on Jun 24, 2008 7:09 PM CDT   0 recs

kinsler - leadoff double

just missed a HR in right center.

hamilton grounds into DP

nice play by Berkman and Tejada

by lnewcomer on Jun 24, 2008 7:14 PM CDT   0 recs

It's Puma time

3-6-3 double play from Hamilton.

Orioles & Cubs on WGN

Surprisingly Luke is starting. He’s hitting around .200 against lefties.

by mokulen on Jun 24, 2008 7:43 PM CDT   0 recs

Bourn had a good AB

7 or 8 pitches and worked a walk

by lnewcomer on Jun 24, 2008 7:46 PM CDT   0 recs

Michael Bourn leaves batter's box too quickly onwalks.

He is going to irritate a few umpires if he’s not careful.

Bourn caught stealing.

And Loretta backs that up with a double.

Bourn caught stealing

a few pitches before Mark Loretta doubles

He gets caught too much

I thought he was supposed to be fast.

The Unofficial Scorer over at the Chron

has the Astros at 14 successes out of their last 28 attempts in stolen bases. I think for the season we’re at barely over 70%, but that number has been dropping.

Since it seems unlikely that all our guys were lucky early and are not lately, this seems like more of a coaching/scouting problem. Coop has rescinded the green light for all but three players, but we have some work to do.

see. i told you he was gonna be good. :p

by entropic soul on Jun 24, 2008 8:01 PM CDT   0 recs

For a high-scoring series

this is a low-scoring game halfway through

wonder if Hamilton was hurt on that dive

on Loretta’s double? when he was leaving the field after that inning he took off his glove and seemed to be shaking his glove hand.

Bases loaded for Moehler

On some kinda flukey hits.

by entropic soul on Jun 24, 2008 8:35 PM CDT   0 recs

Ranger Fans

Think their hit parade against Moehler in late innings is some kind of special achievement.

by pel on Jun 24, 2008 8:36 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Don't Apologize for Moehler :)

But I’m grateful he hasn’t totally tanked like I was afraid of.

He’s gutted quite a few decent starts.

Juice Box

Do they have cup holders in the seats at Minute Maid? I’ve always sat in the first row of each section when I’ve been, so I don’t even know.

Somebody’s asking over at LSB.

by pel on Jun 24, 2008 8:44 PM CDT   0 recs

yep

even in the upper deck where we had seats last weekend.

by lnewcomer on Jun 24, 2008 9:01 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Although

I just provided the picture and mentioned that a Rays announcer asked “What’s the Spanish word for mule?”

Some kind Astros fan provided the translation.

his good outings are sneaky

nothing you see really seems all that impressive, but then he leaves the game having given up only a couple of runs. it’s strange.

by lnewcomer on Jun 24, 2008 9:15 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That's how ol' Rog was pitching there towards the end

He had a knack for working his way out of jams and minimizing damage.

by lnewcomer on Jun 24, 2008 9:18 PM CDT   0 recs

not sure if that was catchable or not

but Bourn didn’t seem to get a good read on it. froze at first.

Not too happy about Papa Grande coming in to bail him out…
