I stand against the DH Rule

I know chicks dig the long ball and all… but come on. I want to see a manager have to make the tough decision in the 6th inning, down by a run… Does he pinch hit for his pitcher with runners on the corners and one out – ? That’s just an off the top of the head scenario, but – yeah – I want to see managers manage.

Besides, I like seeing pitchers who can hit – like a Zambrano or Owings or Backe…

reading Bluejays and Orioles forums and blogs

as well as listening to Chitown talk radio a bit, they are all against it. What I like is when they call the game “unwatchable” because of it – okay.

I prefer the pitcher hitting....

so, OK, I’m a NL fan. AL fans prefer the DH. Fine. That’s why I voted “leave the rules as they are.” The fans who prefer the DH can watch the AL, and those who prefer the game at its finest can watch the NL. I think it adds a little spice to interleague match ups too. People have something to talk about…how will this or that team fare in the other team’s ballparks. When it comes World Series time, you have the mystery of how the teams will fare under the other league’s rules; again something for people to discuss and wonder about…which adds to interest in the games.
