Today's game is not being aired on national TV.  Not sure if FSN/my20 or channel 2 just didn't feel like buying the rights to this game or what the deal is, but for those of you who don't have MLB.TV, you are pretty much out of luck if you wanted to watch this game...  I say pretty much, there is 1 way to get to watch the game for free.  You can get a free 5 day trial of MLB.TV by clicking this link and signing up.  You will probably have to give credit card information and all of that and you will have to cancel the account before your free trial is up, otherwise you will be charged for it.  But if you want to watch the game... there you go.

I haven't decided if I'm going to try it or just spend my time elsewhere.  You can still listen to the game if you'd like on AM 740.

Astros look to go for their longest winning streak in over a week!  2 games..

No Pressure

As of the start of this game, Astros are in last place in NL Central.

Go get ‘em, boys!

No TV because...

Game is starting too early. :(
It’s within Fox’s exclusive saturday afternoon baseball window.

Don’t know why the game is scheduled this early though.

you would think they would

sell the rights if they weren’t going to broadcast a game… at least in cities they aren’t broadcasting games.

Go 'Stros!

No.

You have to watch who they want you to watch. :)

Radio It Is, I suppose

Perhaps it’ll show up on TW77 in Austin after the Red Sox / Cardinals game.

Cardinals mopping the floor with Red Sox, btw.

by pel on Jun 21, 2008 5:12 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Damn

Carlos had a bid for a couple of RBis there… but Upton was able to catch up to the ball in center. :(

by entropic soul on Jun 21, 2008 5:20 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Good first inning....?

Two men on base.. Tejada singled and Berkman drew a 4 pitch walk. Lee and Bourn had some good hits that were caught.. so that could mean good things for later in the game possibly.

by entropic soul on Jun 21, 2008 5:24 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Erstad grounds out.

1, 2, 3 inning…

Jackson at 29 pitches so far:
1st = 18
2nd = 11

Interesting note.. first pitch to every batter except Pence was a ball.
Plus… he’s throwing almost nothing but fastballs.

Top 3

Quintero burkes on a 2-2 count. 3rd base side, foul territory.

Bourn

Grounds out… 2 down.. and things not looking as good anymore.

Aybar doubles :(

Wandy got behind in the count and Aybar made him pay. 1 out.

by entropic soul on Jun 21, 2008 6:02 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Crawford triples to left center...

Aybar scores.. 1-1 tie…..............................

by entropic soul on Jun 21, 2008 6:04 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Upton walks...

Wandy seems to be losing his control. Either that or he’s suddenly getting squeezed.. but that doesn’t make much sense and the radio guys haven’t mentioned it.

Top 5

Erstad.. grounds out. :(

Wandy leaves with bases loaded

in the 6th.. 2 outs. He will not get the win today thanks to an inept Astros offense.

Oops..

Berkman strikes out, but the catcher drops the ball. Then the catcher throws the ball into Berkman’s back. :p

The score disagrees at the moment.

The Howell guy is fooling the hell out of our hitters.

Astros lead 3-2

Ground ball to third. Lee out at second. no throw to first .Rays argue interference at second. Berkman scores

The play in question...

Up on gameday now.. Unfortunately, the camera starts to pan away as Iwamura is about to throw and when he doesn’t, it’s already gone. So we don’t see if there was any interference.

by entropic soul on Jun 21, 2008 7:33 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Lee

slid well past the bag, but it’s hard to tell if it might have been interference. at first, it looked like the Rays manager was arguing that Lee grabbed Iwamura, but Iwamura didn’t appear to make any attempt to throw and looks in the video like he easily dodged Lee’s slide.

Pirates and Brewers are both winning their games.

No where to go in the NL Central today but down, it seems.

four batter

two runs, no outs… too many one-run games for Brocail and Valverde, who are both clearly struggling right now. just when you thought we might string a couple together. rough.

by littlevisigoth on Jun 21, 2008 7:57 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

And tomorrow

Backe vs Kazmir. Yipee.

by mokulen on Jun 21, 2008 7:58 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

WTF Brocail?

You couldn’t even get one out? One freakin’ out?

Houston now officially worst team in the NL Central.

by entropic soul on Jun 21, 2008 8:00 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

My recollection is that Valverde was misused somewhat in the Orioles series...

in any event, the overuse of Valverde in Baltimore comes home to roost.

by clack on Jun 21, 2008 8:05 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Any word as to whether Brocail...

has demolished any furniture in the visitors’ clubhouse?

by clack on Jun 21, 2008 8:09 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

last time he had a bad outing

he had ice on his hand after the game..
