Odd
game started early.. I turned on the TV at 7:04PM and there was already a runner on 1st and 1 out.
Go 'Stros!
What a bad throw by Brad
Abreu steals 2nd and takes 3rd ona bad throw in to CF by Ausmus…
Fans chear the stolen base… pathetic
Go 'Stros!
terrible strategy, partticularly with Joba....
Chamberlin’s main problem as a starter has been throwing too many pitches and therefore not staying in games long enough.
Chacon has been pretty good lately
except for 1 big inning per game… hopefully the 1st was his big inning :)
Go 'Stros!
But take that with a grain of salt
If she watched the game tonight, she’d be wondering why Ensberg isn’t playing 3rd base..
Go 'Stros!
I agree with her
about Jeter being a cocky bastard, although I agree with you that Bonds is worse. Mostly I think Jeter is overrated (despite his later HR in this game), especially defensively. And I despise Ryan Braun for the same reasons—he reminds me a lot of Jeter, the way he comports himself.
75% of the Earth's surface is covered by water. . . the other 25% by Michael Bourn
nice play by Cano....I tthought Pence had a hit....
Pence has been robbed twice by Yankees defenders.
LMAO
They asked Miguel Tejada who had the single season record for RBI’s… Miguel Tejada said A-Rod, when in actuality.. it was him :)
Go 'Stros!
Posada is
now 2 for 22 in throwing out runners..
we should steal EVERY time against him :)
Go 'Stros!
Am I the only one that thinks
Matsui’s face looks fake… it looks like he’s had some plastic surgery… That’s H. Matsui, not K. Matsui
Go 'Stros!
Pretty good outing for Chacon
glad to see it.
6 1/3 inning with 1 run earned against… unfortunately he is leaving 2 runners on. Hopefully (Wright, I think) can keep them from scoring.
Go 'Stros!
Pretty good night for me in fantasy baseball
I have both Chacon and Chamberlain in the lineup.
Go 'Stros!
What did I miss?
Been out on the flightline and came back to the office only to find the WNBA on 760am ><. Looks like a classic pitchers duel…

Sonofabitch
I’ll take the blame for that one… I had a coworker over my shoulder and I was pointing out Jeter’s subpar season on his Gameday stat line. My bad.

When the offense scores 6, the pitchers suck...
and when we get a good start from Chacon, the offense sucks.
Shades of 06 all over again...

What a suck ass team.
1 run? Seriously? From the team that has Tejada, Berkman and Lee on it’s roster?
I question using Valverde in this situation, particularly when he was used lastt night
it mighh limit his use later in series.
That's everyday.
What the hell happened to the team?
It’s like one day they all just turned to ass.

Reminds me
of last year’s interleague play, where we went to Anaheim and could’ve swept the Angels, but lost two because we did all the simple things wrong.
Atleast
Yankee fans didn’t take over MMP. I didn’t think they would, but you never know.
Wang versus Oswalt
Sunday.
Should be a great matchup.
Here’s to hoping we can score something off Moose.
Witth 1 outt, down by 1, in the 9tth, the mostt precious things to conserve
are outs and base runners, and Cooper gives them botth up on one high risk play.
Rotoworld's take on the 9th inning:
“With Mariano Rivera needing a day off, Kyle Farnsworth got a save chance in a 2-1 game against the Astros on Friday and pitched a scoreless ninth.
They just don’t get any more reliable. Farnsworth hit Ty Wigginton to start the inning, but that didn’t stop the Astros from having Michael Bourn try to bunt. A popup followed, and the only reason it wasn’t a double play - Bourn made no attempt to run out of the box - was that Farnsworth was too dense to drop the ball. After that, Wigginton, a noted speed demon who swiped seven bases just four years ago, was thrown out trying to steal second. Reggie Abercrombie, who is in MLB only because of his legs, remained in the dugout throughout. Geoff Blum then fanned to end the game. It was Farnsworth’s first save since 2006 and the 52nd time Cecil Cooper was outmanaged this season. “
Frustrating
That was a painful way to end the game. Why the hell was Wiggy still in there – and attempting to steal? And that pop-out bunt was preceded by some weak attempts at laying down the bunt by Bourn.
At least the fireworks show was good afterwards.
hmmm... football...
