crawfishboxes' very own tideturns on television
this was debuted on 5/3/08 saturday vs. the brewers.
tideturns AKA me- on the right....
keep in mind i made this sign while at work....
i got paid- to coin a new slogan.
KILLER BLT, BITCHES

and for the postgame in which they take my slogan and add a pun for good measure:
notice the differences in innings. we were on several times...
(well it helped that we were almost completely behind homeplate)
my coworkers thought i was nuts because i kept printing out pictures of sandwiches (im talking like 30 different copies cause i kept trying to make it bigger).
YAYYYYYYYYYYY TELEVISION!!!!!
p.s. some dude tried to call up to 610 on tuesday night and tried to suggest this as a new slogan. thanks dude- trying to steal me thunder!!
the sign has not been retired- anytime you see it- you will know its me!!!!

i like it
i heard them talking about it on the broadcast last night and thought it was pretty clever. they added Pence as the pickles.
nice work.
technically
bourn, towles, and loretta could be included just by their names-
but im not sure about the whole pickles=pence thing. whatever- people run with it!!!! :)

That's great. I like the sign and the television coverage!!
During the game thread, a couple of people said they didn’t like the BLT slogan. You may have to go talk them over to your side. :)
LOL
Nice work! That’s awesome! Like Clack said, some people have voiced displeasure with the slogan, but I think they’ll be ok with it once they find out it came from you. :p
i tried to look for what clack said
but i couldnt find anything- link me?

It was just a couple of comments.

I would assume...
JD was still talking about it on Sunday. Didn’t get to watch the game, but it seems that way.

i rewatched the footage when i got home
and after seeing the sign- they said they liked it and it should be the new slogan.
so i dont see how they would have mentioned the slogan any earlier than the debut of the sign and their responses to it on air. just sayin’

p.s. jim deshaies said he liked the slogan...
so maybe it will stick? especially when i show up again with the poster. i need to get the good tickets again first though….

I always wondered about people that hold up big signs..
Do the people behind you get pissed off for blocking their few? I would get pissed if you kept putting a sign in front of my face. :p
I've taken signs a couple of times
I always warn the people behind me that I’ll be periodically holding up a sign, and I never do it when the game is actually in progress (usually just when the player is announced, or has just completed a play). So far no problems.
75% of the Earth's surface is covered by water. . . the other 25% by Michael Bourn
i'd be pissed
I’m not one of those people that go to games to “chat it up with friends”. I go to the game to watch the game and the players and all the things that go on in the field. If you hold a sign up in front of my face there is a good chance that I would get pissed and either say something or just take the sign away :)

You wouldn't take a girl's sign away...
would you? :p

hell yeah i would.
well.. it depends on the girl, but most girls I have seen at games annoy the crap out of me. They never shut up and if I hear “Wow Ausmus is hott” one more time!!! shakes fist

i definitely go for the game
but i hold up signs ONLY when a players name is called…. or sometimes randomly between innings. most of the time i hold it visibly in my lap.
im lucky because the best seats i get usually are front row so there isnt anyone to block the sign from being viewed if i just have it in front of my chest.
oh and i ALWAYS tell the people behind me to let me know if it bothers them.
never had a problem.

DeShaies & Brown
Were all over the “BLT” last night (Wed.)
My 18-yr-old daughter, a lifelong ‘Stros fan, really got a kick out of it, too.
You might should go look up a copyright/trademark lawyer real soon. There are probably some of those sitting around the homeplate area, if you ask.
We’re talking T-shirt royalties here.
There is a bright side to the '08 season.
Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens are out of baseball.
Iggy is my buddy from college
Went to the game with him on Tues. I was calling them Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato all game. I believe that I accredited JD for coming up with the sandwich.
Sorry tideturns. I will give him the correct info.
My first mistake was assuming you knew what I was talking about.
