Dear Cecil, Part 1

Dear Cecil, Why do you hate the Astros? I am willing to quit smoking cigarettes if you call for a trade for Dave Borkowski, save a life! This 08' Astros team by watching them you can tell that they really want a playoff berth.  Be a hero Cecil, end the pain that WE Astros fans will have to see in October. Why do you not see that Wesley Wright is one of the most dominant out of the pen? He constantly pounds the strike zone in an aggressive fashion, and not having it sail over the middle of the plate and having the scoreboard operator add a run to the visiting side. Go Astros!

I can't defend Borkowski's performance....

But Wright hasn’t looked too sharp lately. Wright’s ERA is up around 5

I'll take...

Wesley Wright over Dave Borkowski, atleast the league hasn’t seen enough of Wright like they have Borkowski. Off the top of my head without having to look it up, i can recall Borkowski losing two ballgames that were in the Astros clutch. When I attended the Astros vs. D-backs series and Micah Owings slapped an opposite field shot to tie it up at 7 a piece, Cooper left him in to give up another run and held off on Brocail until the game was already given to the D-backs. Case and point, the bullpen from the 05’ season left and they forgot to take Borkowski with them. I am confident with the Astros front office in making good deals, Chad Qualls and Chris Burke for “Papa Grande” Jose Valverde. Also, the acquisition of Brian Moehler was an excellent one, I refer to Brian as “The Dentist” which uhh… working title.

Not sure Wright is the answer either

21.0 w 2 L 0 K 16 BB 6 HA 33 ERA 6.86 WHIP 1.86
18.0 w 3 L 2 K 14 BB 12 HA 15 ERA 5.00 WHIP 1.50
Above are Bork’s and Wright’s #s. Bork’s the first line. Not too much different. I am not a Bork fan but Wirght has certainly fallen off after a great start.
I am not as worried about the 4th or 5th guy out of the pen as I am the starters. Namely one Roy Oswalt but I will make that a separate post.

My friends suggested I see someone about my baseball problem. So I made an appointment but just ended up helping the doctor with his fantasy team.
