Wow

Sampson’s first pitch, way over Soriano’s head for ball 1.. message?

Go 'Stros!

by Stros Bro on May 20, 2008 7:07 PM CDT   0 recs

yes. but so high and inside, it didn't seem scary.

Chris, if you want a purpose pitch, it needs to be close to his body. That was above his head.

Blum batting before Pence

by entropic soul on May 20, 2008 7:18 PM CDT   0 recs

my advice: be selective on swinging at Dempster pitches.

he doesn’t get a lot pitches in the strike zone. Well, Bourn didn’t get the memo.

by clack on May 20, 2008 7:20 PM CDT   0 recs

Bourn sucks out.

Dempster has very strange movement with his hand before a pitch. Or what Stros Bro said. :p

by entropic soul on May 20, 2008 7:20 PM CDT   0 recs

JD says he likes it..

I think it makes Dempster look like an ass clown..

Ooooh, I thought Pence was safe… pretty close play at 1st.

Maybe Towles needs batting gloves

to break him out of this .149 slump he’s in… and when I say slump, I mean season.

A very disappointing year for our rookies so far.

And it doesn’t portend well for the future.

by BTastros on May 20, 2008 7:39 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

disappointing to see Towles struggling while Soto is a star.

Towles and Soto looked like similar offensive players in the minors and in limited big league time last year. So I expected Towles and Soto to be competing for rookie of the year, or at least best rookie catcher. But so far, no contest.

with no runners on and 1 or 2 outs.

Tejada shows some life...a double.

Ball was kept, because it was Tejada’s 1800th hit, if I heard correctly.

by clack on May 20, 2008 8:04 PM CDT   0 recs

All of a sudden

it seems like the offense is scuffling again.

Biggio and Bagwell for the HOF!

Biggio says:

LOLZ, Now you want me back as your lead off hitter don’t you? :p

by entropic soul on May 20, 2008 8:17 PM CDT   0 recs

a cousin of mine...

is a soccer coach at St. Thomas. I’m a little envious that he’ll have a bunch of opportunities to see Biggio.

The same cousin was also at the game where Bidge got 3000—it was the only game he went to that month. He’d bought the ticket like a month before just in case Biggio was close.

by BTastros on May 20, 2008 8:23 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Nice hit by Bourn

just right at the right fielder, more or less.

by entropic soul on May 20, 2008 8:26 PM CDT   0 recs

and Towles...

could really, really use a hit here.

by BTastros on May 20, 2008 8:45 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

4 pitch walk by Sampson to a rrookie in his first ML at bat....

what more sign do you need that he lost it.

by clack on May 20, 2008 8:55 PM CDT   0 recs

OMG, Brocail is in...

please get out of this…with our lead intact…PLEASE

Go Stros

Biggio and Bagwell for the HOF!

by SeoulStro on May 20, 2008 8:58 PM CDT   0 recs

Brocail and Valverde...

are the only relievers I feel good about these days.

And I don’t cringe when Wright comes in. Can’t say the same for anyone else, I don’t think.

by BTastros on May 20, 2008 9:03 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Oh, I don't cringe..

when Nieve comes in. Not because I expect he’ll get it done (it’s too early to know what to expect) but just because I like him and want him to do well for his sake.

by BTastros on May 20, 2008 9:06 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Doesn't Ramirez

look like he has a smaller body than he had two years ago?

VALVERDE WITH SAVE!!!!!!

A little dicey with a walk to Edmonds….but all’s well that ends well.

by clack on May 20, 2008 9:39 PM CDT   0 recs

Easy Win

Two homeruns account for all the scoring.

Cubs get a two-run homer.
Astros counter with a grand slam.

Grand slam wins.

Good win

Let’s see if we can take the final game tomorrow…that would be nice. Good to get this win.
