Cassel To Triple A, Wigginton Back to the Big Club

Following the Astros' series and road trip finale with the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, the club optioned right-hander Jack Cassel to Triple-A Round Rock.

The Astros will soon need a roster spot for Ty Wigginton, assuming the third baseman completes his rehab assignment from a fractured left thumb without any setbacks. If Wigginton is healthy, he'll likely be activated from the disabled list prior to Friday's homestand opener with the Brewers.

Hopefully getting Wigginton back in the lineup will help spark our offense.  I know some people disagree, but I still think Wigginton is our best option at 3rd base.

Wrong move

Cassel should’ve stayed in the rotation. Sampson should’ve gone to the bullpen. Borkowski or Moehler should’ve been released.

There is a bright side to the '08 season.
Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens are out of baseball.

I agree too.

But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Cassel back on the roster soon.
