Who Won/Loss What?

Ok, this may be a stretch and may be a meaningless way to think of things... but lets see how it works.

The general thought here is to see who is to blame for a loss or who deserves credit for a.  Not player wise, but pitching or offense wise.

Rules
Any game in which the Astros lose when giving up 4 runs or less will be considered a loss caused by the offense.  Any loss in which the Astros give up 5 runs or more, will be considered a loss caused by the pitching staff.

Same for offense; any game won when runs scored were 5 or more will be considered a win by the offense.  A game won when runs scored were 4 or less, will be considered a win for the offense.

If the Astros score more than 4 runs and give up less than 4 runs, both the offense and pitching will get a point.

Losses will count as a minus in that column and wins will count as a plus.  At the end of the season(if this lasts that long), whoever has the higher score, will be the side of the ball who should get credit for the most amount of wins.  Make sense?  Good.

In the event of an extra innings game... the score after 9 innings will be used to determine who gets credit for the win or the loss.  For example, if after 9 innings, the score is 4-4, then if the Astros win, the pitching will get credit for the win.  If the score is 5-5, then if the Astros win, the offense will get credit for the win.  Make sense?  Good!

** If Runs for >=5 and runs against <=4, there will be no credit given to the 1st 2 wins boxes, only the 3rd that has both... if that makes sense...

Tonight was the Perfect Game

...for the truth of this system. Pitching held to less than 4 and Offense scored more than 4. Wandy looked GREAT!

Valverde

Gave the offense a point.. if he doesn't blow this game, the Astros win 3-0 and only the pitching gets a point.

Another win for pitching last night!

Great game Shawn Chacon! Puts the pitchers up 4-3.

And today, a loss for the offense

Pitchers now up 4-2—Go pitchers!

I saw on the telecast...

that they had the “magic number 4” as the number of runs and showed the team’s record in those games.

Seems we got the jump on them, eh?

Or they have a spy.

Three more for the hitters vs. the Brew Crew

...and two count for the pitchers as well. Score is 6-4 Offense.

Loving the fact that they are quoting the “Magic Number” on the broadcasts now. “Astros are 13-4 when they score more than 4!”

How do we find the spy?

umm...

I dunno… plant some bad information and see if they use it? :)

I just noticed something..

Should I make it to where if the Astros give up more than 4 runs and score less than 4, that both the offense and pitching lose 1 point?

Yes, I am a nerd.

Needs updating

Lots more wins for the offense this week – and one loss for them as well.

Done :)

Still haven’t gotten a chance to make the change where both can get credit for the loss… we’ll get to that eventually.
