Astros - On Pace Stats

On pace numbers really have no bearing on much... but they are fun to look at and can help determine just how good a player has been starting off the season... So take these numbers as you like them.  These stats are through 25 games or just over 15% of the season.

Thoughts

This shows how good Lance and Miggy have been to start the season, and how bad Hunter and Bourn have been. Not sure what to think about Lee yet.. he hasn’t been terrible, but 78 RBI’s just isn’t going to do it from him.. he needs to be around 100 or so… at least.

Berkman going for MVP

He probably won’t keep going at this rate, but how do those numbers NOT win you an MVP?

Have you seen Burrell's stats?

They are betterthan Lance’s… not a lot better… but enough better.

Utley as well.

Dude...

for as much as Bourn doesn’t get on base… he’s on pace for 84 SBs. That’s insane.

Yea

84 stolen bases and 104 hits… Imagine if someone actually managed to steal more bases than hits… that would be nuts.

Go 'Stros!

The kid could be a star

If he could just hit (or get on base) better.

A .212 batting average with 26 homers?

He is on pace for Dave Kingman territory.

I'll take

58 RBI’s from my #8 hitter though :)

Pretty Good

That the Astros have 6 players capable of hitting at least 20 home runs this year.

and quick-footed nickname to live up to…
last year i laughed at berkman being “big puma”
this year- it makes sense hahaha

At this pace...

He deserves to be the starting first baseman for the All Star team. He’s been the best so far. But will the repuation of the Albert Poo-Juice overshadow him? We’ll see.

What a difference a week makes...

...for Hunter Pence, anyway!! Average hasn’t changed much, but 3 Home Runs and 8 RBIs change those “on pace” stats!! (now 20 HRs and 81 RBIs). Much more acceptable season for Hunter, although still lower than expected/anticipated.

Updated to compare

Lance is a monster :)

Based on the new numbers

...the only two players that improved their “on pace” stats by much this past week were Carlos and Hunter.
