Things that worry me...
Having to pitch to Albert Pujols this weekend. His #'s against the Astros are 313, 405, and 568 which are actually below his career #'s but he does seem to get some clutch hits against us. That sound was me hitting myself with my monitor.
What do we do with Wiggington once he comes back into the lineup? Can he slide back into the lineup without causing a problem?
What is going to go wrong? Sorry the Houston sports fan in me is a fatalist (realist?) The defense can't keep this up right? The starters (including Matt Cassel) can't keep going this way can they? Are the Astros this good?
And things that don't...
Roy Oswalt...Last 2 start, 14 innings, 4 ER, 11 hits, 4 walks, 10 Ks. That is guy we all know and love
The bats are finally doing what we need them to do.
Mr Cooper. I am impressed so far with his willingness to move guys around in the lineup, make some changes to get the guys who are going well where they need to be, while still not stonewalling guys that need to get out there and work our their problems. So far I am giving him an A.

I thought
the 313, 405 and 568 were the measurements of the homeruns he hit off of Lidge…
I think Wigginton coming back will be good for the lineup. Loretta/Blum are not every day starters in my opinion.

This is the team I thought we had.
Bats that should score and should be clutch – and pitching that holds it’s own – not great, but not as bad as alot of folks expected. Team ERA of between 3.75 and 4.25 – actually 4.38 as of last night’s game. Team average runs scored between 4.50 and 5.00 – actually at 4.63 as of last night.
While I don’t doubt that there will be more losing streaks to come, the last 6 days has proven that we should also have our share of winning streaks. And with the first significant one coming in April, that should bode well for the confidence of this team.
My concern is that Wiggy has been out the entire time—what happens when he comes back??? And Bourn has been out for the last 4 – with Erstad contributing to all of those wins. Does the momentum change when Bourn and Wiggy are back in the lineup? Or has the addition of Matsui at the same time as Pence’s return to hitting been the catalyst for this streak?
Regardless, I am now looking forward to watching the game today – as opposed to last weekend when I seriously considered hawking my tickets to Sunday’s game rather than suffer through another disappointment. (In the end, obviously, glad I went to the game!)
