Astros continue to roll!

The Astros' hot bats continued and Chris Sampson pitched a gem against the hated(at least I hate em) Cincinnati Reds.

Star-divide

Houston 9-Cincinnati 3

This is the offense we have all been waiting for! This is the beginning of a tough road trip, but if the Astros continue to play like the have been on their four game winning streak we will be money in the bank. Tomorrow we got Jack Cassel against rookie sensation Johnny Cueto. Let's go for five in a row!

Think this is the offense...

that Wade envisioned?

And do you think it was as easy as getting Matsui back?

And what happens when Bourn comes back?

If they continue to play this way

I see great things. The offense is nasty 1-8 especially when Bourn and Wiggy return. The defense might be a slight concern with Wiggy, but I’m knit-picking. The starters should continue to be solid and I hope the farm system provides some bullpen help later on in the year.

Things are looking up.

Bourn to Run!

Nasty offense

but Sampson’s performance was my highlight. As long as we can keep getting quality starts, we’ll be in good shape to at least stay close in the division and/or wild card.

Some good things....

1. A win streak…albeit modest so far.

2. Hunter Pence is finally hitting the ball hard and looks to be untracked. His batting average is already in the .250’s which is amazing, considering that he was hitting in the .180’s last weekend.

3. Matsui.

4. Sampson with a quality start. I thought he was going to be in trouble based on the first couple of innings, but I think he relaxed and let his fielders take over when he got a nice lead in the score.

5. Berkman and Tejada are a scary two-some in the middle of the lineup.

6. The offense can’t score 9 or 10 runs like this on a consistent basis, but it was a matter of time before the offense broke away from its initial bad start to the season.

Carlos Lee

still struggling though :(

I think he is joking...

Carlos Lee had two doubles in the game. Maybe he is heating up.
