WHAT ARE YOU DOING COOPER!?!?!?!!?!?!?  I find this move absolutely absurd...  Why is Tejada batting 3rd, Berkman batting 4th and Lee batting 5th. WHY?!?!?  There is no possible good that can come of this.  The only thing that can come of this is for you to get your butt fired.  Lance started off the season great, Tejada 's been doing very well and Lee has been doing good enough.. There is no reason to screw with your 3-5 hitters in the lineup, yet that is EXACTLY what you have done.  If you want to start screwing with the lineup, you don't screw with your 3 most productive hitters.  Heck, Pence had probably his best night of the season and you moved him down a spot!?!  Are you trying to see how many dumb moves you can make in a game?  Blum had the worst game of the season his last time out and you bumped him ahead of  Pence who had his best...  Yea, that's a real confidence builder.  I just don't understand...  I'm trying to find the words to explain this and the only word that keeps coming to my head is ignorance...

While we're making stupid moves... why not just move Lance back to RF so we can Loretta some more playing time...

I can't watch tonights game

After seeing the lineup, I’m too pissed to even think about Astros baseball… so I’m taking my wife grocery shopping… Yes it’s that bad

Love that Michael Bourn

Biurn’s speed in center helped Wandy to a 1-2-3 top of the first.

Then Bourn stole second in the bottom of the first

Close play at second but he’s safe

Tejada

Double play in his first at bat…

How's the strike zone?

Looks like Wandy is getting squeezed.. but that’s gameday.

Tejada makes an error

I have a pet theory that when a shortstop makes an error the opposing team usually scores a run in the inning.

As just happened here!

Bases loaded for Rockies

It’s still top of the fourth. That Tejada may have opened the door to a big Rockies inning. But there’s two outs, so maybe all be fine (except for the one run already in).

How much harm can Todd Helton do anyway?

Not much this time as Wandy strikes him out!

Wandy is out?

Gameday says Villareal is replacing him for the top of the 5th.. why?

by entropic soul on Apr 19, 2008 7:25 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah....

What the heck? He got out of the mess in the 4th! And it’s not like he was having huge control issues… he was walking people on a bunch of close pitches.

Could be

injury, but I sure hope not, but I would think it is. He was first to come up to bat in the next inning, and I can’t conceive of him being pulled this early other-wise

Chron.com

says Groin soreness. Oscar “Automatic Runs for the Opposing Team” gives up a run before even getting an out.

this

is looking to be a bad move for Wade, especially since he locked him up through next year.

Wandy left due to

soreness in his groin..

I read you criticize Coop's move with the 3-4-5 hitters

But I don’t think you know what you are talking about. They are a good 1 for 9 today so far.

hehe

Obviously I never know what I’m talking about… I’m just here to try and piss everyone off :)

So if the umpire can't see...

Then the presumption is that the catch was made? That seems a little backwards.

by BTastros on Apr 19, 2008 8:16 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I guess

from my first take from the back side, I said he was out based on the fact that he went down with the ball in his glove, and came up with the ball in his hand… seemed obvious the ball came out, but it wasn’t 100%..

In football, you can’t overturn the original call unless there is 100% evidence it was wrong… guess the same goes here. The original call was an out.

But that's just...

the thing. He came up with the ball in his HAND, not in his glove. Who digs the ball out of the glove before getting up? Every time I’ve ever seen an outfielder make such a catch, he always holds up the glove first—that’s just the natural reaction.

by BTastros on Apr 19, 2008 8:19 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

That is...

Most guys who did have caught it and landed that way would have rolled over and just held up the glove, and then dug out the ball.

Bah, I totally screwed that up

I meant SAFE based on the fact that he went down with the ball in his glove and came up with it in his hand… chalk that down to my typing and not proof reading my work :)

An obviously bad call

Blum hit a ball to center. The CFer touched it wth his back to the infield, but the ball dropped out of his glove. The CFer grabbed the rebound with his right hand and held his hand up as though he caught it. The umpire called Blum out , but replays showed the ball was not caught. Umpires conferred and still called Blum out.

Nasty break for the Astros.

Drill Spillborgs(spelled wrong)

for lying? :) I’m kidding… or am I?

Maybe the fans...

should give Spillborgs holy crap everytime he comes up. Make him realize that he picked up the ball off the grass in front of 30.000 people. Maybe he might feel guilty….I doubt it though.

Another Stolen Base for Bourn

That’s 2 today.. 11 overall. I don’t think he’s been caught yet.

Even if we were to take the lead...

Valverde would just blow it anyway.

Maybe if most of our starters

were not batting under .230 the Astros would not suck so much.

This is Michael Bourn's game

He is the Lone Star for the Astros tonight.

Bad offense.

This may be a bad team. Wait and see, I guess. I think the Astros had some fundamental misconceptions about constructing an offense when they put this team together.

Right now, the Astros are next to last in all of major league baseball in OBP. This team is much worse than the 07 team in terrms of OBP. At least, so far.
