Tejada is really old now!
I don't know if anyone posted anything about this but it's still somewhat humorous that this keeps happening. Evidently he is 2 years older than he told everyone he was. I don't think this makes him evil but it is funny. Oh well, I don't hate him for it. His reasons for doing it sound like I probably would do the same thing in his situation.

ESPN is evil! They are so evil! I saw how they broke the news on E:60 some program they had. I kind of felt sorry for Miggy. I mean yeah, he lied and it was his fault, but they brought him in to do a harmless interview and he ended up getting upset and pulling his mic off and leaving. Was pretty cheap.

That and the fact that...
all his paper work, which ESPN was apparently able to obtain and none of his former employers were, seems to have the right date.
Isn’t looking at all the paperwork before hiring someone the direct definintion of “due diligence”?

Or...
and I didn’t think about this until I hit post… Maybe ESPN is just that good. Maybe they bribe and decieve better than MLB organizations.
Which would be agreeing with you… maybe they are, in fact, evil.

Sir Charles on ESPN's interview
J.J. Ortiz’s blog at chron.com has an interesting reaction from Charles Barkley:
Charles Barkley saw the interview where, in his opinion, Miguel Tejada was “ambushed by ESPN” on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park.
“I thought what they did to Miguel Tejada was one of the most Bush League things I’ve ever seen,” he said on Dan Patrick’s radio show today.
Sir. Charles being Sir Charles, he noted he wouldn’t have been as nice as Tejada, who showed his anger by just walking out of the interview.“I would have slapped the hell out of that guy,” Barkely said on Dan Patrick’s radio show.
He also said on the show: “To sit a guy down for an interview for something else and to ambush him like that, that pisses me off.”
I don’t think ESPN covered themselves glory either. Why pick out Tejada for this interview? Or is this just an effort to help the federal investigators prosecute Tejada?
If the Astros aren’t upset about the age misrepresentation, I don’t see the big deal. The employer is the only person who can claim any direct harm from this, and if they don’t think it has been harmful to them…who cares?
You used to have respect for ESPN?

wow
one of the few times that I agree with Charles Barkely. He is right on. The interview looked very professional, and you could tell that it really hurt Tejada to have to get up and leave. That just shows what ratings are for and what is better to attract a crowd than something negative? Positive just doesn’t win these days.
