No way
16 million a year for 5 years for a mediocre second baseman? Maybe you haven’t paid attention the past few years, but Young is not longer the player he was in 2005. He slugged around .400 last year. I don’t think that is worth 80 million.

Yeah your right I didnt look at his numbers compared to our 2nd baseman. For those of you who are interested here are the numbers.
Young H HR RBI Games Played
183 12 82 155
Matsui 110 6 33 96.
but he's a shortstop
Tejada (1yr/$13MM) .314/.415/.283/13 (OBP/SLG/AVG/HR)
Young (5yr/$16MM) .339/.402/.284/12 (OBP/SLG/AVG/HR)
essentially, we’ve already got that guy, and people are complaining already that we’re paying him too much.

Rangers aren't openly shopping Young.
He didn’t hit all that well this year after his wrist injury so he’ll probably see an upturn next year, but he’s been poor at SS for a couple of years: over at LSB, a lot of debate has gone into moving him to 3B as soon as Andrus arrives.
