I agree with his points as well, but I’ve grown to take his remarks with a grain salt and rarely read what he writes anymore. He’s been critical of Drayton, he’s defended Drayton, he’s harshly criticized commentors on his on-line column, and he’s sensitive to opposing views.

This has been my most consistent criticism (my problem with RJ: no consistent viewpoint; he fluctuates): he let his farm system go yrs ago. True, partially a scout problem, but there has been no commitment on the part of Drayton to maintain a farm system. There should be. In addition, the ’Stros have two of the best venues for minor league ball in Round Rock and Corpus Christi (both owned and supervised by Nolan Ryan and his son).
