Brian Bogusevic listed as a Right Fielder on the 40-Man Roster

I guess Michael Bourn can rest easy. I just noticed this and I guess that solves our uncertainty as to whether he's seen as capable of playing CF?

I would hope so

But wasn’t control his issue? Hopefully we work on backing up 3B and Home in spring training.

A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

That's a good sign then

does position listed on the 40 man roster

really mean all that much in terms of where he’ll be playing? did someone drag Coop away from his BBQ pit and grill him (sorry, couldn’t resist) about what his plans are for a player that he’s never seen play for any length of time? doubt this is really that important a designation. I could be wrong because I don’t know too much about any rules that attach to the designation on the 40 man, but it seems like a minor detail that gets filled in because there has to be something there.

no, it certainly doesn't bind the organization.

it’s possible that they could change Bogusevic’s position as circumstances warrant. Those circumstances might include how well others are playing and how well he plays in the spring.

Bogusevic in 40-roster now just because

Astros want to protect him form rule 5 draft.
I don’t think they already give Bogy a nod, but Bogy will have chance if Bourn still sucks next season and Bogy keeps hitting hard in 3A.
Position designation on website isn’t really matter, Cooper still can start Carlos Lee at shortstop.

I don't think it does

I just thought it was curious.
