Looking into the Astros crystal ball: Jason Castro's ETA

The latest Astros mailbag had a reader question involving Jason Castro and when we could expect to see him trying to launch one into the Crawfishford Boxes.  Footer projected an invitation to Spring Training in 2010, and I assume the possibility of a cup of coffee in September corresponds to that, but what do the inestimable readers of (and authors) of the Crawfish Boxes divine from their tarrot cards (is Ms. Cleo still around), tea leaves, or their handy crystal balls?

if the stros continue on as a AAA team for the phillies and are as bad as they could be in the next few years, castro might come up sooner than we think/hope..

maybe next season..

Sadly

You may be right.

A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

2010 would be great

but 2011 seems more realistic.

It will be

I’m guessing the single vote for 2014+ is a vote for “he’ll never make it to the big leagues”. But the 2013 vote? If it takes that long, something seriously went wrong with his development.
