Mike Hampton wants a straight one year deal

MLBTradeRumors reported a lot earlier today that Hampton doesn't want to hear offers on an incentive based contract and just wants a deal. I don't know that I'm ok with that.

Apparently discussion have been between us and the Braves, so far. Dierkes names several teams who could be a fit with Hampton though.

slow down....

it come from..

Mike Hampton’s agent Mark Rodgers, who said, “We’re looking for a straight one-year deal – no option, no nothing.”

but Dierkes add the comment:

It’s unclear whether Rodgers’ statement means Hampton will avoid incentive-based offers.

“one year, no option” is very easy to understand. But he should know he will earn lots more if he takes incentive-based offer rather than a guaranteed money (He need to be health, of course).
