The Dodgers? Are you kidding me? The fucking Dodgers? Seriously? The Dodgers? The goddamn Dodgers? Really? You mean the Dodgers that were 7th in the NL in wins? Worse than the Mets and the Astros and the Cardinals? Those Dodgers? Surely, you jest. So you're telling me (let me get this straight) the fuckin' Dodgers are in the NLCS? The same Dodgers that OPS'd 11th in the league? The team that barely managed to win the weakest division in the league? Might go to the World Series?

Dodgers are No. 2 in the major leagues in pitching ERA.
Someone else (Stro Bros?) said “pitching is king.” 6 of the 7 top ERA teams in the majors in the playoffs. The Dodgers could be like the 05 Astros, who rode strong pitching to the World Series, despite weak hitting.

Playoffs
are terrible. The season is plenty long enough to not need them. This (and the ’06 Cardinals) is the kind of distortion you get.

I picked the Dodgers to go to the World Series
so I think they are more than worthy to be in the NLCS.
The only “surprise” in the LCS is Boston, and even they are not that big of a surprise except they had to get by the Angels, which they did too easily.

Without NLDS & wild card, under the old system, we may have had a Phillies-Cubs NLCS or a Brewers-Cubs NLCS, depending on how you partition the divisions.
