Lidge Back

So, looks like Lidge will be back Friday in Chi town...I made a cruel joke to my brother during the All-Star derby about who should pitch to Pujols when he had 9 outs in the 2nd round. Ya, I know, but I am hoping he can contribute to the pen here. The question is, who goes? Albers has looked pretty good this time around, so...
Does McLemore get kicked back to RR based on his 1 bad inning? Most likely I guess. I don't see Moehler getting the boot, based on his 1 million dollars. Anyone have insights/hypotheses/predictions/soothsayings?

Moehler Down?
The decision, for me, is between veteran with starting experience and (supposedly) good for long reliefs versus spanking new leftie backup for Trever and possibly a future starter.

That's a tough call, and I would vote in favor of sending Moehler down under the assumption that a run at the division title is probably beyond the Astros' reach at this point.

However, clearing waivers might be difficult, and since he is a veteran, he would have to consent to be sent down.  He might not be so willing.

Moehler
being an NRI (like White) is found money if we think he's turned out to help the team.  if they thought dumping him and keeping McLemore as a lefty specialist/garbage time pitcher was better for the present and/or future of the team, i wouldn't (and i think mgmt wouldn't) think twice about losing Moehler as any kind of "asset" to the team.

I haven't been impressed...
with McLemore so far in the major leagues.  And it's not just the results.  From what I've seen, he doesn't seem to have great stuff.  He appears to be a lefty who requires precise location in order to succeed...and that doesn't bode well as a bullpen specialist.  I would send him down to get more starting experience.  As it is, he won't get much work at the ML level, because Garner appears to be gun-shy in using him for anything but mop up work.  I keep having this hope (unrealistic, probably) that Moehler will show something decent in a long relief assignment which will persuade some contending team to trade for him as a spot starter.

Stats
yes, it was prob a "veteran" move thing, but here are Moehlers ERAs since he left Detroit-- 5 years ago.
2002-6.02 2003-7.90 2004-N/A 2005-4.55 2006-6.57 2007-5.57

Thats 5 years of being consistently bad (maybe 1 mediocre in there)

He's 35 y.o. and has not been good since he was 30.
