Are we really going back to Houston with our best pitchers? After watching Woody and Chris get their bejeezuses rocked the last two nights, I wonder whether the Chronicle lunatic fringe might not be right: Maybe we should pencil our best talent in, NOW. If you're gonna get blown out, you might as well get blown out with Troy Patton and Juan Gutierrez.
Then I calm down some, but I'm still worried.

As before, those pitchers cut are included in both their original group, and in their new one.
Because I wanted the numbers to add up, I included Kelly Wunsch, who sacrificed just a little bit of his development for the good of the team at Vero, as a non-roster invitee.
The other thing I'm realizing here is that I've had Borkowski as a "major league regular" all spring, and as Milo kept repeating last night, he may not make the team. If as Hamilton suggested, the choice is between either White OR Borkowski, and you can't have both, then Borks won't be in Houston when the opening pitch is thrown by Roy vs. the Pirates. White has been incredible, and if T-Purp and Phil don't give White the job now, then why did they bother inviting him at all?
Borks had some deeply clutch moments last year (especially during that Dodgers game where he won the Game Hero), but there's a danger in getting too married to your middle relievers, because most of them just aren't that consistent from year to year. Up one year down the next, that's the way it goes, and I'm not saying Borks is gonna be down in '07, but it sure looks like White will be up.
