Astros offer arbitration

to both Type B free agents, Loretta and Miller.

I don't know what the Astros' expectation are, in terms of whether they think either guy will accept arbitration.  My guess is that Loretta will decline it, because he will see the handwriting on the wall, in terms of limited available playing time.  Loretta has been discussing contract possibilities with the Rockies and Yankees.  I think Trevor Miller may be more likely to accept arbitration.  But I don't know for sure.  He may see bigger opportunities in free agency.  No other free agents were offered arbitration.

I think this is a good strategy.  If both guys sign elsewhere, the Astros get 2 draft picks.
