Koji Uehera: NOT our No. 2 starter

Apparently he was injured for a portion of this year, so he doesn't actually have the service time required to be eligible for free agency and would require a posting fee (link).

Read: not gonna happen.

yeah
there are some other Japanese names out there, but from what i've read Uehera was the most likely to be an impact player in the MLB.  i guess there's a right fielder Fukidome(?) and maybe a reliever or two that might be worth investigating, but i've never heard Houston mentioned in any of the articles i've read.

btw, i don't know what people's opinion's of MLBTradeRumors.com is, but i really enjoy checking it out on occasion, particularly this time of year.  i know he's a proliforator of wild speculation and was criticized by Footer in the past, but so long as you wade through with a healthy amount of skepticism, there is some good information to be found and some interesting discussion for those that like to play the "what if" game.

mlbtraderumors.com isn't
a bad site.  I check it frequently.  In previous years, it had some wild rumors which turned off a lot of people to the web site.  But the rumors are pretty tame now.  In fact, most of the content consists of consolidating the rumors published by established sports writers; so it is one of the better places to read rumors published by newspapers around the country.
