This is a compilation of what I think should be and what I think the Astros will do. I would be fine with moving up Burke to leadoff, Ensberg to second, and Biggs to sixth. The players that come off the 40-man are Astacio, Jimmerson, and Asencio.
Possible changes:
Palmeiro instead of Doggy. I think that Doggy can make a good impression out of ST though. And many of you know how I feel about Palmeiro as a PH.
Quintero instead of Munson. Giminez has lost all the shine on his star the last 2 years. Guys that repeat both AA and AAA are lucky if they even become AAAA players, much less on a ML roster.
Albers into the rotation instead of Sampson. Sampson moves out either Borks or Estrada/Peguero. I think Holdzkom will do well in ST and get a shot to stay on the team and lose his job if he disappoints at MMP.
Call-ups:
The first pitchers that will move up and down are Gutierrez and Albers. Or in relief McLemore, Estrada, and Peguero.
If anyone falters in the infield Conrad can play all but SS. The OF will be backed by Lane, Pence, Palmeiro, or Doggy.
The one thing I am unsure about is if Lane, Bruntlett, and Palmeiro can go to AAA. I guess if either don't make the team they will be able to be picked up by other teams. I am pretty sure if Doggy doesn't make the team he can play AAA since he signed a MiL contract.
Any thoughts on any of this?
