Well, at already 30 more runs..
than they had at this point last season, I'd be quicker to blame the pitching. They have ALREADY allowed 58 more runs than they did last season. And there's still 14 games left.

THAT is the problem, IMHO. They can only afford crappy to mediocre production if the pitching is lights out most of the time. And it generally is. But, lord. too many rookies to honestly expect that on the staff.

JMHO.

No 5 for Roy. I wonder if anyone pays attention to his 1000K mark.

And I wonder how quick that is in comparison to the big ones like Ryan and Clemens...and isn't Burt Blyleven up there?

by StrosDux on Sep 18, 2006 8:20 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Bottom of the 5th...
Lance up.

Gotta love Bags.

He has season 1-3 and 5 of the top 5 RBI seasons of Astros.

Lance Ks looking AGAIN.

The kind of stating the obvious, lol!

He grounds out to Aurilia to end the inning.
I think the only guy on the team slower than Aubrey is Andy Pettitte. Damn he's like GLACIALLY slow. Ugh.

I think. I lubs me some hustle hits.

And JD, yet again, "It was a do or die play and, well, he died."

CatcherBradley up.

He's on w/ a force for Adam. Adam broke up the DP, though.

Roy up.

by StrosDux on Sep 18, 2006 8:38 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

He Ks swinging to end the inning.
I was curious when they mentioned that the Reds have both allowed and hit 200 HRs this season how we've done. No where close on EITHER account.

158 hit, 167 allowed. Harrumph.

He flies out to Denorfia to end the inning.
I swear when it's cooler the ball doesn't carry well at ALL at MMP. That's one of several not even long outs tonight that would be out most nights.

by StrosDux on Sep 18, 2006 9:07 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Top of the 8th...
Chadley still in. CJ in to play RF.

Oy.

Almost a 2nd bunt hit.

CatcherBradley up.

by StrosDux on Sep 18, 2006 9:19 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Wow, that sucked...
He lines out to Denorfia (methinks almost everyone but denorfia thought that was going to be a hit), Burkie takes off running and they've got themselves and easy 9-6 DP to end the inning.

Sigh. Ahh, well. Mistake of hustle not lack of effort.

by StrosDux on Sep 18, 2006 9:21 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Top of the 9th...
CJ's moving from RF to CF. Laner to RF. Burkie moves to 2B.

He grounds out to Mikey Chops...
I don't know who 'he' is, though.

And I think it's Ross up. Which would make the last batter Encarnacion. I think. I'm gonna cry now from confusion, lol.

by StrosDux on Sep 18, 2006 9:26 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Indeed. And he Ks for the 2nd out...
And it was Encarnacion leading off.

Hollandsworth in to pinch hit for whomever was pitching. I lost track, lol.

by StrosDux on Sep 18, 2006 9:27 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Another pinch HR...
and both of Wheels runs in the 2nd half are off of solo HRs.

((shrugs))).

Valentin.

Or maybe Hollandsworth wasn't hitting for Stormy. I'm confuuuuuuused.

by StrosDux on Sep 18, 2006 9:28 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

He grounds to Lance...
who makes a nice snazzy diving play and throws on to Wheels to end the game.

Hey, Rastro. I's gotsta agree w/ JD, Brownie and crew. Dat was a team win if ever there was one. Losing Roy to injury (goddamnit, I'm gettin sick of saying that about our 1-4 starters!) could've absolutely blown apart the game.

Yay Roy, yay Chadley, yay Danley, yay offense!
